The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) has released the official recruitment rulebook for the Subedar (Secretarial) Stenographer and Assistant Sub-Inspector (Secretarial) Direct Recruitment Selection Examination 2026 under the Police Headquarters, Home (Police) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the post-wise educational, technical, age and other conditions prescribed in the official recruitment rulebook.

Age Limit: The age is calculated as on 08 October 2026. The rulebook provides different maximum-age provisions for MP domicile candidates, female candidates, reserved categories, other-state candidates and specified special categories. Candidates from outside Madhya Pradesh are subject to the applicable open/unreserved recruitment provisions.

Selection Process
Candidates are selected through the stages prescribed in the official MPESB rulebook.

- Shortlisting according to the prescribed cutoff and vacancy-based rules

Written Exam: 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours, with no negative marking. Subjects include General Knowledge & Logical Knowledge, Intellectual Ability & Mental Aptitude, and Science & Simple Arithmetic.
Practical Test: 100 marks. Subedar candidates undergo Hindi shorthand and transcription tasks; ASI candidates undergo Hindi typing tasks. Minimum qualifying practical marks are 30%.
