For Class 10 (High School) Improvement/Compartment	Candidates must have appeared in the UP Board Class 10 Examination 2026. Students who failed in a maximum of two subjects are eligible for the Compartment Examination. Students who passed the examination can apply for the Improvement Examination to improve marks in one subject. Students who failed in both the theory and practical components must appear in both parts. If they failed only one component, they need to appear only for that component (or may choose to appear in both).
For Class 12 (Intermediate) Compartment	Candidates must have appeared in the UP Board Class 12 Examination 2026. Students who have failed in only one subject are eligible for the Compartment Examination. Agriculture and Vocational stream students are also eligible if they have failed in one eligible paper or trade subject as per UPMSP rules. Students who have failed in more than the prescribed number of subjects are not eligible for the compartment examination and must appear in the annual examination again.
