Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must possess a full-time engineering degree in the relevant discipline and a valid qualifying GATE 2026 score to apply for POWERGRID Engineer Trainee Recruitment 2026.

Minimum Educational Marks
- • General / OBC (NCL) / EWS candidates: Minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- • SC / ST / PwBD candidates: Pass marks for posts reserved for the respective category, as per applicable rules.
- • Final-year candidates expecting results by 14 August 2026 may apply subject to the prescribed conditions.
GATE 2026 Requirement
- • Candidates must have appeared in and qualified the corresponding GATE 2026 paper.
- • Only normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2026 will be considered.
- • GATE 2025 or earlier scores are not valid.
Age Limit
Maximum age: 28 years as on 31 December 2025.
Age Relaxation
- • OBC (NCL): 3 years.
- • SC / ST: 5 years.
- • PwBD (UR/EWS): 10 years.
- • PwBD (OBC-NCL): 13 years.
- • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years.
- • Ex-Servicemen and other eligible categories: As per Government of India rules.
Salary and Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive a basic pay of ₹40,000 during the one-year training period in the IDA pay scale of ₹40,000–₹1,40,000. The approximate annual CTC during training is ₹11 lakh.
After successful completion of training, candidates will be absorbed as Engineers in the E2 pay scale of ₹50,000–₹1,60,000, with an approximate annual CTC of ₹22.50 lakh.
Additional benefits include Dearness Allowance, HRA, perks, Performance Related Pay, medical facilities, PF, gratuity, pension, insurance and other applicable allowances.
